Auf den ersten Blick erscheinen 99 Euro fair fürs Fire HD 7. Wer allerdings genauer hinschaut, wird schnell enttäuscht: Nur 5 Gigabyte* Speicher sind ein Witz, zumal keine Erweiterung möglich ist. Obendrein ist die App-Auswahl bei Amazon alles andere als üppig.
Im Vergleich zum Vorgänger hat Amazon das 2014er HD 7 deutlich verbessert – und das Betriebssystem* „Fire OS 4“ überarbeitet: Es basiert jetzt auf Android 4.4. Zudem gibt’s nun Kameras auf Vorder- und Rückseite. Die Bildqualität ist ok für ein Tablet dieser Preisklasse; der winzige Speicher lässt sich nicht erweitern.

While it's relatively easy to recommend the HD 6 at £79 or £99, it's significantly harder to like the HD 7 at £119 or £139. For £129, Tesco's larger Hudl 2 is a much better deal, even if you're buying it for your kids.
... If you would rather keep things simple, it's worth giving Amazon's latest slate a try. There's a sense of Amazon resting on its laurels, but what's worked well before continues to do so now. If only it was a little more affordable given the current competition - but with that in mind the 6-inch Amazon Fire HD 6, priced at £79, is perhaps the better option if you're looking for a bargain.
