Fighting against the might of Apple isn't easy, but unlike the now-defunct MP3 player manufacturers that did the rounds in the early 2000s, Cowon soldiers on. The J3, is remeniscent of a cross between an old-style iPod nano and an iPod touch. It retails for around £155 making the 8GB model cheaper than the 8GB iPod touch. But without the App Store to rely on, it's also a much less flexible device. Like most Cowon devices though, sound quality is on its side.
Fazit
Unless you really care about audio quality, forget the Cowon J3. It's expensive and the interface can be hard to get your head around - but match it with a great pair of headphones and sonic bliss awaits.

Klein, leicht und durchaus leistungsfähig ist Cowons Multimedia-Player. Er bringt gerade mal 78 g auf die Waage, wartet jedoch mit einem 3,3 Zoll großen AMOLED-Display auf.

Braucht die Welt überhaupt noch klassische MP3-Player? Musik quillt doch mittlerweile auch aus jedem Handy, jedem Netbook. Netzwelt vertritt klar die Meinung: Ja - wer auf Musik steht und diese nicht nur nebenbei sondern bewusst konsumiert, kommt an einem ausgewiesenen MP3-Player wie dem Cowon J3 nicht vorbei.
Fazit
Wer Wert auf lupenreinen Klang legt und von dem Gedudel aus dem Handy genervt ist, findet im Cowon J3 ein potentes Gegenmittel. Er bietet brillanten Klang, den Nutzer zudem auf vielfältigste Art und Weise verändern können. Hinzu kommt die große Anzahl abspielbarer Audio-Formate, die wohl ebenfalls kein Smartphone bieten kann. Wer diese Vorteile erkennt und zu schätzen weiß, wird auch in Kauf nehmen ein Extra-Gerät im Alltag mit sich zu führen. ...
