Seagate has clearly had a busy year with the launch of its GoFlex storage line. The latest entry in that line is the FreeAgent GoFlex 1.5TB portable drive, which packs half a terabyte more than the competition offers in a 2.5-inch design. The $299 drive (price as of 23 September, 2010) comes with a USB 3.0 connector, too, which means that you don't have to foot the $39 bill for a cable (as you do with other models in the FreeAgent GoFlex series).

A stylish-looking USB 3.0 drive that packs a whopping 1.5TB capacity, but in write performance it lags behind the competition.

Die Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9250410AS beeindruckt mit neuen Bestwerte bei den sequenziellen Datenraten und erreicht maximal fast 100 MB/s. Damit dringt das 250-GB-Modell in Bereiche vor, die bisher den großen 3,5-Zoll-Festplatten vorbehalten waren.
Die externe 3,5-Zoll-Festplatte „FreeAgent Desk 1.5TB“ von Seagate ist sehr robust und bietet reichlich Speicherplatz. Ob sich der Kauf des Gerätes lohnt, klärt der COMPUTER BILD-Test.
Fazit
Die Seagate speichert effektiv 1.397 Gigabyte Daten. Sie arbeitet sehr schnell und überstand den Falltest mit leichten Gehäusekratzern. Allerdings wurde die eingebaute Festplatte im Dauerbetrieb recht warm. Der Hersteller gibt zwei Jahre Garantie auf das Produkt.
